Build a table that appears to float by magic while discovering the fascinating science of tensegrity. Using carefully balanced tension and compression, you'll create a gravity-defying sculpture that challenges what your eyes think is possible.
Throughout the workshop, you'll assemble your own impossible table while learning how engineering principles can create structures that are both surprisingly strong and visually stunning. It's the perfect blend of art, science, and a little bit of illusion.
No engineering experience is required. We'll guide you step by step, and you'll leave with a conversation piece that's guaranteed to make people ask, "How does that work?"
What You'll Create
You'll build your own desktop-sized tensegrity table using precision-cut wooden components, cord, and simple assembly techniques. Once complete, your finished project will appear to float in midair while secretly relying on the hidden balance of tension and compression.
It's equal parts sculpture, engineering, and optical illusion.
