Turn wire, nylon, and gesso into a one-of-a-kind sculpture using materials you’d never expect. Over two evenings, you’ll build the form, let the gesso dry, then return the following week to paint and finish your piece.
Difficulty: Moderate
Recommended Ages: Grade 8 and up
Younger makers are welcome with adult help. Each participant creating their own sculpture needs their own ticket and may require hands-on assistance from their accompanying adult. Younger participants may share a project with their adult at no additional cost.
Rusted Rose Art Lab is all about experimenting with materials, techniques, and ideas that might be a little unexpected.
You don't need to consider yourself an artist to join us. Workshops are designed to be approachable, hands-on, and creative, with guidance along the way and plenty of freedom to take your project in your own direction.
No identical finished projects required.
Pre-registration is required so materials and workspace can be prepared for each participant.
Registration closes 2 days before the workshop.
This workshop requires a minimum of 5 registered participants to run.
To respect everyone's time and give us plenty of room to create, workshops begin promptly at the scheduled start time.
Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to check in, get settled, and claim your workspace before we begin.
Wear something comfortable that you don't mind getting a little creative in. This Art Lab includes wire, nylon, gesso, paint, and other wonderfully messy materials.
A completed waiver is required for participation.
